Cable Bahamas gets gospel TV

With such an increasing demand for gospel music, the Bahamian community is set to benefit from the recent arrival of a new gospel television channel.

The Gospel Music Channel was recently launched on Oceans 12 Digital TV, a subsidiary of Cable Bahamas and is now accessible to all subscribers of the new digital television system offered by Cable Bahamas.

In celebration of Gospel Music Television, a grand gospel concert dubbed “Gospel Splash” was held on Saturday at Sandals Royal Bahamian Resort which brought together several of the nation’s top gospel artists and sought-after international artists of the industry.

Taking centre stage and bringing dazzling performances at “Gospel Splash” were, Shaback, TaDA (Tenielle Burrows), Nehemiah Heild, Mary Alessi and Anointed.

Producer for Gospel Splash, Mr Erik Russell said, “We thought that it was a good tie in between the product that we had (Gospel Music Channel) and actual live gospel music so we spoke with the Gospel Music Channel and they arranged to bring in two international gospel artists, Mary Alessi and the group Anointed, and we brought in three of our local gospel music artists.”

According to Mr Russell, the concert was originally scheduled for October of last year, but due to Hurricane Wilma, it had to be postponed to February.

The Gospel Music Channel can be accessed on Oceans 12 Digital TV and airs a variety of contemporary gospel music videos and other closely related programming.
