American celebrity Anna Nicole Smith plans to sue attorney Michael Scott and Callenders and Co., charging that they breached attorney client privilege and were involved in a conflict of interest situation, The Bahama Journal has learnt.

Mr. Scott and the law firm formerly represented Ms. Smith, who is at the heart of brewing controversy surrounding the approval of her permanent residency application.

The property at the center of the Anna Nicole Smith controversy was handed over by the British Colonial Hilton’s developer as part of an agreement to settle allegations that he received a $3 million fraudulent preference from a failed offshore bank run by Prime Minister Perry Christie’s brother.

Ron Kelly handed the property over to BDO Mann Judd accountant Clifford Culmer, the court-appointed liquidator for Americas International Bank Corporation (AIBC), to strike an out of court settlement and avoid the expense of a Privy Council appeal.

The $700 million Rum Cay Resort Marina will be managed by the luxury hotel company RockResorts as it begins its three-phase process of building up the biggest marina that The Bahamas has ever housed.

The joint venture will bring the Rockefeller family businesses back to where it began: in the West Indies. The management of Rum Cay Resort Marina (RCRM) will be the first international addition to the brand since the company was purchased by another resort called the Vail Resorts, back in 2001.

Anna Nicole Smith has been hospitalized with pneumonia at the same medical center in the Bahamas where her 20-year-old son died under mysterious circumstances in September, an attorney for the reality TV star said Tuesday.

Smith, whose son died while visiting her in the hospital three days after she gave birth to a daughter, was being treated at Doctors Hospital in Nassau, attorney Wayne Munroe said.
